Our Kids & Youth Bouldering Proficiency Programme (KBPP/YBPP) syllabus is the perfect route to progressing a climbing hobby. Still, for more ambitious kids and youth, it provides opportunities to develop into athletic dreams.

Here at Boulder Planet, we base all our classes on the KBPP/YBPP syllabus to ensure your children are getting the best coaching and content. The coaches delivering the programme are experienced and professional. Our qualified coaches will follow a comprehensive syllabus to teach during class to develop confident and independent young climbers. With a tried-and-true syllabus, we can observe growth and progress.

Level 1

Focus: Safety, confidence, and fun – catching the climbing bug!

To introduce kids and youth to the world of bouldering. They will learn the basics of climbing in a fun and safe environment through play and climbing activities. They will gain confidence and improve their motor skills. Our coaches will ensure that the kids possess the knowledge and skills to boulder safely at any bouldering facility and climb sensibly.

Level 2

Focus: Skills and technique, self-motivation, and independent climbing.

To help the participants conscientiously understand bouldering, know the essential preparation and control needed while bouldering, and introduce them to higher-level techniques and movement skills.

Level 3

Focus: Advanced skills and structured training.

To improve performance with advanced skills and knowledge of training, and to initiate experience towards competitive climbing.

Do you have a trial class?

No at the moment. Our kids/youth programme comes in a term of 8 classes.

Are there any age restrictions?

For KBPP, the minimum age is 6 years old and the maximum age is 9 years old of the current year. For YBPP, the minimum age is 10 years old and the maximum age is 12 years old of the current year.

Can my child join halfway through the current intake?

Unfortunately, this would not be possible. You may enrol your child in the next intake when the current batch has completed the programme. Please refer to our page for the next Intake date.

How do I confirm that my child’s enrollment is successful?

You will receive a receipt of your payment and we will also send you another email within 1 working day for further instructions regarding your child’s enrollment.

What does my child need to bring for the class?

A pair of socks and a water bottle.

If my child misses one class, is there a make-up class?

If a child misses a class, there wouldn’t be a make-up class but our Coaches will provide a refresher for your child when they join the next class.

What happens if my child has an accident during class?

As for any activities, there is some level of risk in climbing. It is part of our syllabus to teach how the kids/youth can mitigate these risks. Our coaches are licensed first-aiders that will provide immediate assistance in the event of an accident. Your child’s safety is our number one priority.
